Hey thanks so much for the honest review. Much appreciated! Just a note: The game can be played with mouse & keyboard but it isn't recommended. The "true last boss rush" mode is the games 'hard' mode but wont be too difficult for veteran shmuppers (that was added at a later date). Thanks again.

Nice video! The music was fighting with you in the first section (or I just didn’t like the song) but it chilled out later on. Enjoyed the references like a rainbow through a cheese grater and berserk.

That jump at 13:20 had me so confused until i figured you could jump again after wall jumping

I say go for the change. I do feel that sometimes reviews can feel kinda dry at times Something else that you could try to incorporate into your reviews more to make it less professor-like is to bring some humour into them. Crack some jokes sometimes. Include funny clips of things that happen to you in the review.

tysm for still including audio samples in reviews, too often people will talk about the quality of the audio but never play any of it to demonstrate their point. Too broke to even think about getting this just yet but on a sale one day, i think ill nab it, hopefully itll get patched up too

Thanks for the name drop, Dragnix. It would not be an exaggeration for me to say that the game crashed on me well over 30 times. I reviewed it on PlayStation 5, but I've had PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X owners reach out and tell me that their versions are exactly the same. Sounds like the game is busted across the board on home consoles, but more stable on PC.

Great Review your rating system took me by surprise, seemed almost as complex as the game. ;)

Judge quests seem to be intentionally impossible. 200 coins to complete? No can do, as the max stack size is 30. Summon a bunch of familiars? No can do, as the presence of a Judge prevents familiars from spawning altogether.

Not to be the grammar police but "sigils" is pronounced "sijil" with a jay sound. Great review on Tevi. I have it and Rabi-Ribi. Great games. I recommend you try the Momodora series too (3 games).

Why did they stop making these? The engine was solid and i know they got a million more stories to tell!

dodge action can also be extend by sigils. When you do those dodge attack ,you can just immune any damage for more than 2 sec. While you still doing whatever attack you want. Dodge is the most important movement in late game bosses. When you dodge you also shoot 5 high damage spear.

The spacing and placement of the save locations is perfect and allows me to savour this great game. It’s one of the best I’ve played in ages and so far the boss battles have been great.

Hey man, nice review. Glad to hear you enjoyed the game, cause I was pretty mixed about it. The puzzle gameplay is pretty good, baring needing some polish here and there. But I really did not care for the story and characters. It starts off fine enough and I was at least curious how the plot would go during the middle, but it dropped the ball hard at the end for me. It wasn't satisfying at all. At least you can skip the cutscenes. (The game doesn't tell you about that feature BTW)

What makes this the best metroidvania is how smooth the exploration and movement is, backtracking to fully explore a map is a joy not a chore the music in game slaps, the map is huge the sigils that increase your power are not just some basic shit like you do x more dmg or have x more hp there is a ton of them and the effects are really complex allowing for many different playstyles depending on how someone wants to enjoy the game, Tevis design as a character is awsome she looks dope and oh boy the combat its so fluid and the combo potential is really close to stuff like devil may cry 10/10 metroidvania
